Comparsion

Our focus in inquiry was was to make a ven diagram comparing Panmure Bridge School with the 2018 Winter Olympics. For this we had to find information about the winter Olymipcs and Panmure Bridge School. I worked collaborative with Jack,Nickaela,and Sanujan.

Olympic Vaules

Today Nickaela and I have created a google draw about the winter Olympic values and the Panmure Bridge Values. We had to use a smart searching  skills and find the Olympic values and Olympic motto's. 

Skiing On Sewage- Reading

For reading today. Our group has read an article about skiing on sewage. This article is about people turning sewage water into snow. Some people didn't agree with this idea. But I think this idea of filtering sewage water and transforming it into snow is a good idea because its recycling something and making it into something good. 

Chinese New Year- Explanation

How Chinese New Year Is celebrated?

The famous Chinese New Year is celebrated around the world. It is celebrated with people cleaning their homes for the start of spring. People around the world put up red posters with poetic sentences on them and put them on their doors. Chinese New Year is also the time where friends and family meet up and enjoy their time together.

Near the end of the holiday people light lanterns and either let them fly in the sky or on let them float on top of water.  In the middle of the celebration people light fireworks and firecrackers. People often give unmarried people and kids red envelopes with money inside.

At night people eat their dinner packed with lots of delicious foods. They celebrate with some specific foods like Shrimp , Noodles and Egg Rolls. These three foods represent a long life,happiness and gold bars. Foods that are common when eating on chinese new year is fish,Wassabi,Kimchi, vegetables , rice and curry. Other cultures celebrate chinese new year because of the special events that happen.

The tradition is also about 12 animals. These animals competed in a race which the Jade emperor will chose its year for it to be celebrated. The recent year 2018 is the dog. Chinese New Year is celebrated because a dragon would arrive on the new moon and goes when the full moon comes up.

People celebrate Chinese New Year to remember the Chinese legend about the Mysterious beast who would visited the town and scared the people in the village… But a old man stumbled towards the village and told them about the beasts weakness. The colour red , loud noises and more. The beast then left on the full moon never to visit again.

We have started to write an explanation about the Chinese New Year. Nyjah and I have worked collaborative together to finish this task. I have learnt a lot about a structure of an explanation. We went into groups of four so we can check each others work. We had joined Savelina and Mele. They had checked for mistakes on our work. This really helped our explanation to be better then it was before.

Symbols

Today was our first session at tech. I have started art. Today we have made an presentation about symbols. These are about our culture,our family and hobbies. Our new teacher is called miss Telephone. She will be our art teacher.

Kiwi Can

Today was our first section of kiwi can.  Today we were focusing on encouraging others, being positive and building there self of steam. At kiwi can today we played games that relates to encouragement. We first started off with a skit. That we were in groups for and we had to act about it. Our one was about students fighting and someone solving the problem.  After that we played a game in a team where you had to pass the ball to everyone and encourage everyone to play. 

Comparison Of Mascots

This week for inquiry we have been focusing on the winter Olympics. Since the winter Olympics is coming up. I was in a group with Jack, Nickaela and Sanujan. We had to choose a mascot to compare the two differences and the similarities.  

Making Connections Hard ice soft ice

Today for our task I have created a making connections. Today we have read a book called hard ice soft ice this book was about ice and how it forms. We had to use text to text text to world and text to self. 

Olympic 1924 & Modern

This week for inquiry we have been focusing on the Olympics. We had to get into groups of 3. I was with Jack,Saunjan and Nickaela. We had to work together and study about the 1924 winter Olympics and Modern Olympics.

Today I have created a chart that shows how many blog posts I did over the years that I have been at Panmure Bridge School. I then had to create a DLO to explain why I had more or less blog posts.  I have written goals for me to achieve by the end of 2018.

For our first day back. We started of with doing a writing recount. We had to choose and event that we did on the holidays. And mine was the beach. We had to fill out the sheet but. Cant say what your writing about. We had to try use a similar metaphor or any Langauge feature. To get a bonus points.
